Winter your catamaran
under the best conditions

Port Navy Service has been specialized for many years in the parking On the ground of catamaran and trimaran up to 13 meters wide. The multihulls are wedged on metallic sills and wooden sleepers. For drifting catamarans, we position large steel shims under the hulls. We adapt our calibration supports according to the size, weight and hull shape of your boat.

No dismasting is necessary, neither for handling nor for outdoor parking.

In the case of parking under the shed, dismasting is to be expected.
Your mast will then be wedged next to your boat or on an outdoor rack depending on your request.

During your stay in Port Navy Service, many services are available for your comfort, including:

  • Drinking water & electricity (16 amps and 32 amps, 220 V and 380 V) from terminals distributed over the entire shipyard,

To best preserve your catamaran or trimaran, some wintering tips:

  • Store and desalinate your fenders and mooring lines
  • Desalinate and degrate your sails, then overwinter them inside your catamaran or bring them for overhaul.
  • Desalinate and preserve your current rigging
  • Desalinate your bridge
  • Preserve your mobile equipment (horse-hole buoy, HB engine, etc…)
  • Block your wind turbine
  • Wintering of the main engine and plugging the exhaust with a greasy cloth
  • Fill up the fuel tanks to avoid condensation
  • Empty water tanks and water heater to avoid possible freezing
  • Disconnect your batteries, unless solar panels and management system
  • Inside, remember to leave all the doors open to facilitate air circulation
  • Open the fridge door that will have been emptied in full to avoid mold
  • Clean toilets and water circuits with white vinegar and empty them completely

Specific to multihulls:

  • Make sure your trampolines are rinsed with fresh water, removed and stored safely under the bridges. These can represent a significant wind and will also become more fragile if exposed to UV rays for long periods of time.
  • Check that your fins are well raised and fixed, or remove them completely and store them under the deck.
  • Check that your escape hatches are locked from the inside (specific to the model) and that you leave a large note of bright color and an attached rope to remind you to unlock them before launch.

In order to ensure the safety of your yacht, your sailing companions and the environment, we ask you to strictly follow the guidelines below:

  • Do not leave your boat connected to the site's electrical terminals (squad-on) after you leave (high risk of fire),
  • Disconnect your batteries from the power grid from the boat, unless you have solar panels with integrated management system,
  • physically block your wind turbine, or dismantle the blades,
  • Secure your dinghy (annex) appropriately, ideally under the bridge. If this is not possible, please make sure it is secure and can withstand strong winds. The air must also be removed from inflatable structures, to prevent over-inflation when exposed to direct sunlight,
  • Remove your sails from their lazy bag(s) and reel(s) and safely store them under the deck, or entrust them to a sailboat for maintenance,
  • Secure your running rigging and deck equipment so that it does not rub or click,
  • Secure your saffron,
  • Ensure that all items that represent a significant bluff (annex, condoms, biminis, lazy bags, tarpaulins, etc.) are disassembled and stored appropriately,
  • Do not leave equipment, hardware, rubbish or personal effects around your boat. If you need additional storage space, a container and garage are available on request.
  • Do not attempt to release or remove the dormant rig without prior authorization and without the help of a professional. Our mast service and mobile crane are available to help you and ensure the safety of your yacht and surrounding boats.

Please note: The above guidelines are an integral part of best yacht maintenance practices and our general conditions of sale. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and staff, and ask for your help to promote a secure environment.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in personal injury and/or property damage, and resulting legal proceedings, in which your personal liability may be invoked.
