To put your boat in the water in the best conditions
Launching a boat is a Delicate and precise operation during which security is a top priority. Having achieved more than 40,000 lifting operations Successful in our 35 years of history, we Let's approach each operation carefully.
How is the launch going?
You already have a fixed appointment with our team. Before the arrival of the lifting machine, a few checks are essential for safe launching.
Unwinding: a key step before the season
- Like wintering, unwinding is crucial to ensure that your boat is working properly (see our [wintering tips]). Think about:
- Check the motor and service battery charge
- Test engine start (annual maintenance is recommended)
- Control levels: oil, coolant, fuel, etc.
Preparation for handling
- Install 4 docks (front/rear, port/starboard)
- Place your fenders
- Prepare brushes and paint for any touch-ups of antifouling
D-Day: Launching
- Crane operators take care of your boat. Once the location has been cleaned and the ladder returned, head to the dock or slope.
IMPORTANT: The crew boards only after launching. The captain then moves the boat to the reception dock to free the handling area.
Launching your boat
Launch your boat in the best conditions
After making an appointment with us, and receiving confirmation of a date and time, it is important to carry out a series of Checks before the arrival of lifting equipment and launching the boat. Good preparation for wintering or long-term storage is essential, and will ensure the reliability of your systems, and the safety of people on board, for the coming season.
Therefore, it is very important to perform a series of detailed checks and maintenance of all critical systems, including but not limited to:
electrical
Batteries, inverter/charger, solar panels and controller, wind turbine, navigation instruments and proper operation of all navigation lights.
Engine and generator
Oil, coolant and filters, tension/replacement of serpentine belts, turbine(s), cooling water intake opening.
shell
Gear hulls and hull valves (opening/closing as needed), cutlass/seals and collector bearings, thruster enclosures and power supply, anodes, correct rudder operation, portholes and closed hatches.
rigging
Check the functionality of the current and dormant rigging (including winches, pulleys, hale-down, etc.). Ensure the preparation of appropriate national flags, guests and signage. CAUTION: It is forbidden to remove/release the standing rigging without prior authorization, and the assistance of a professional and crane equipment. Failure to comply with these precautions can result in serious injury and/or property damage, and legal proceedings against those responsible.
Favorable winds
Before departure, please help us by ensuring that your old parking space is stored, that all waste is disposed of and that ladders/rental equipment are returned. Please also make sure that antifouling remains from last minute touch-ups are removed responsibly at the "Clean Point" recycling center, located next to the lifting docks.
